This week, TCDI had the pleasure of partnering with Consero’s Corporate Litigation & Investigations Forum, which took place in Coral Gables, Florida at the Biltmore Hotel. Over 100 corporations were represented by individuals ranging from Litigation Counsel to General Counsel.
The event provided an amazing opportunity for legal professionals to share ideas in an open forum with others who may be facing similar challenges or have not yet encountered the situation. Sessions ranged from leadership insights, alternative dispute resolutions, class action insights, creating an inclusive workplace through Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and, of course, the buzzword of today, Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the legal department. During these sessions, the panels discussed various topics and opened the door for the attendees to ask questions and pose examples of similar circumstances.
Litigation Innovation
Our own Chief Strategy Officer, Andy Cosgrove, moderated a KnowledgeBridge session on “Litigation Innovation: New Approaches to Managing Risk, Burden, and Spend.” The KnowlegeBridge format is a Consero favorite among attendees where they are open to discussing various topics that currently challenge them or how they are dealing with the topic at their own company.
Andy engaged the 30+ attendees gathered around the table and enabled the group to discuss their challenges, and, in some cases, how those challenges are being handled in other law departments. From the group discussion, it was clear that AI was a concern and a savior for many. Budgeting, RFPs, and new pricing models for outside counsel law firms were of interest and getting back to the basics was the answer for some.
Consero Connections
The cocktail receptions, breakfasts, and luncheons were valuable to the attendees as they exchanged contact information (business cards, yes, I actually saw a lot of business cards) and continued conversations surrounding the previous panel discussions.
An open forum for legal professionals is invaluable for gathering new ideas and finding ways to solve current challenges. Consero provided a great venue, as well as interesting and timely topics for a successful experience.
