Recently, we had the pleasure of partnering with and attending the Consero 2025 Corporate Litigation & Investigations Forum at the unique Wigwam Resort, nestled in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. It was wonderful seeing old colleagues and meeting so many new ones as we all gathered for three days of great discussions during panels, meals, and individual meetings.

We have all attended legal conferences and events of various sizes from time to time, but I was pleased to find this one to be just the right size and mix of corporate counsels from an incredible group of companies and several law firms.

Discussions to Drive the Legal Community

The interactive panel discussions at Consero addressed numerous relevant subject matters on the minds of the legal community. Some of the most memorable were focused on the topics of litigation and investigations including views on communication, collaboration, strategies, and utilization of analytics. What was even better was the fact that discussions often continued in small groups or between individuals after the fact, during breaks, and over meals.

Topics of discussion and particular interest throughout the week included Internal Investigations, Labor & Employment, AI guidance and adoption, as well as budgeting, tracking, and forecasting.

Legal Innovation - A KnowledgeBridge Session

Our own Vice President of Legal Services, Michael Gibeault, hosted a KnowledgeBridge session, titled “Legal Innovation: Managing Risk, Burden, and Spend.” He led a spirited conversation that got attendees discussing new approaches the legal community could use when managing risk, burden, and spend in today’s environment.

One discussion point that intrigued the audience and sparked many questions was Michael’s explanation of leveraging the data-driven process improvement methodology of Lean Six Sigma. This approach focuses on waste reduction and efficiency while minimizing variation and defects in organizational performance. TCDI implements this method by ensuring that over 60% of our team members are certified with Lean Six Sigma at various levels. This effort plays a key role in our supporting processes, efficiencies, and defensibility. Some breakout attendees were unfamiliar with Lean Six Sigma and were excited to explore the concepts and consider implementing them in their own organization.

Concluding Remarks

Overall, it was a wonderful event that brought people and ideas together on very relevant topics. As we wrapped up on Friday, I noticed a lot of people making plans to connect and speak again soon. It was great example of a successful session. Thank you to the entire Consero team for bringing us all together for such an impressive conference!
